Evolutionary Dictionary is a language definition and foreign language translation program for PalmOS and WinCE handheld computers. It is simple to use and very fast. You can add/edit/delete entries on your handheld or you can use a PC Windows program to create your own dictionary modules from text files. It features a simple to use interface, and unique lightning fast two-way lookup.

NEW - Dictionary now has a Quick Launch feature to make it very quick and simple to lookup a word from another Palm application. Just select the word then perform the Quick Launch stroke and Dictionary will be launched and perform a lookup of the highlighted word. It does this by copying the highlighted word to the clipboard then switching to Dictionary. If you also have the option to lookup clipboard on startup then the whole process is quick and simple. This feature only works with Palm OS5 handhelds. The Quick Launch stroke is a vertical stroke starting from the calculator icon (or favorites on some handhelds) straight up into the main screen area - this is shown in the diagram on the right.

NEW - Dictionary now opens language modules DIRECTLY from expansion cards! Modules are not copied into RAM. You can now install the largest modules without sacrificing any precious RAM. You can even update modules stored on cards. Only VFS compatible cards are supported. This includes the Palm SD card, Sony Memory Stick, and Handera CF cards. You can use the Palm Install Tool to HotSync directly to the card and it is immediately accessible by Dictionary.

NEW - Dictionary now has a selection of English language definition dictionaries based on the expansive WordNet dictionary. These modules range in size from 770Kb up to 5.7Mb with 109,000 entries so you can find just the right size for your Handheld’s free memory. You can now have this module on an expansion card with no extra RAM required!
